Dear Ms. Aleyda and Classmates:

It is amazing how we can teach grammar by just playing with sentences, let the students learn by putting words in the correct place with the aim of a great amount of activities that we can use to improve our students grammar learning in an enjoyable way.

Nice article by Simon Mumford, it helps us to make better classes.

Best regards,

Dear Ms. Linares and classmates:

In this article is brought to our attention how important it is for us teachers to try and integrate the students into their own learning process. Making them take a more active role in their acquiering of knowledge. For this pourpose the teacher can use either Uninformed Strategy Instruction or Direct and Integrated Instruction. Here the students can either work with materials and not be aware of the pourpose of the activities or be informed of the value and pourpose of the activity, respectively.

Is important and extremely benficious for both the teacher and the students to integrate and be an active part of the learning process throuthg their lives.

Have a nice weekend.

good morning everyone;

According with this reading  language learning  strategy instruction is teaching to increase  learners awareness of learning strategies and provide them with a systematic practice  and use those language learning strategies to develop their own learning. The students will be more active in their own learning process in order to be more efficient in it.  The form that teacher should teach strategies should be direct and explicit  and this contribute  to improve the proficiency of students. According with Kinochita The sequence of instructional (present, model, explain and provide practice) depends of the need of the students and time and also according with to the learning- teaching  context.  if teachers show students  how, when and why to use strategies, they will helping students to be more efficient and proficiency in the moment of their own learning.

Micro Teaching.

Good morning,

The last micro teachings were very nice and quiet interesting, they use technology to teach grammar. Technology is a very useful tool for teacher and students. It provides resources that we can not use normally in the classroom and it keeps the attention and motivation of the students.

Have a good day;

USING SIMPLE POEMS TO TEACH GRAMMAR. by Hawanum Hussein

One of the main questions that the teachers have is: what exactly is the best way to teach grammar? This question is difficult to answer, but most of the teachers agree that it is necessary that the students need to have fluency and accuracy in form and meaning.  So grammar cannot be teaching in isolated way. This reading presents an integrated and combined approach to teach and reinforce grammar across the use of “writing simple poems”.

Many students show weakness in grammar so this technique can help by reinforcing grammar rules.

The sequence that this method follow is:

It starts showing the point:   ex:  Adjective poems

Revision of basic structure: pattern

Example of an adjective poem written and revised by the student.

The Teacher monitors their work.

Then we don’t have excuse to use approaches that help our students to improve.

Thanks,

This presentation was interesting, because teachers had used technology to teach Conditional sentences, they used videos and exercises from the blog, they were very helpefull to the class. Teachers in their classroms have to used videos from tv shows as our teachers did with the bing bang theory, students will enjoy learning with their favorite tv show. Also they enphazises in the differences between  conditional sentences, it was very clear for me.

Pragmatic motivation behind a question makes effective active communication in classroom, this consists in apply techniques that have been developed to contextualize expressions like: Is that a pencil? No, it isn’t. It is a pen.  So providing the situation they make pragmatic sense. Some techniques are:   -Abstract arts.

Use a disguise.

Reduce available perceptual information.

Introduce a change of state.

Take advantage of cultural knowledge gaps.
