Dear Ms. Aleyda and Classmates:

I believe is extremely important for us teachers to  know how to get our students to not just memorize grammar rules {explicit knowledge} buy also know how to apply or use grammar correctly in their writing and every day speech  without having to take a lot of time thinking about the rule and then have an accurate production {implicit knowledge}.

As teachers getting students to learn grammar without having it to be such a long and slow process, is really hard work . Rod Ellis gives us some activities to develop grammatical knowledge making it easier for both the teacher and students to notice grammar elements little by little until later on they are able to reach a conclusion on their own, about what the  rule states  for later confirmation with the help  of the teacher or a grammar book. This process gives the students confidence on their own capacities and will motivate them to  interest in grammar structures.

Getting students to notice grammar can be difficult. It requires patience and dedication but it will all be worth it in the end.

Have  a nice weekend.
