Online Grammar

Good Morning Teaching Grammar Classmates!
Once more I am here to share my thoughts on the reading assignment for this week. The reading for this week by Caroline Ho Mei Lin tells us about using the World Wide Web as a main source for gathering materials and all sorts of resources for teaching grammar. If we are conscious of the world we live in now, that is at its most based on technology we can see that what is stated in this article is known by most people but only used by a few. Why? Well in my opinion because we are always busy in other things and don’t have the time to sit down and look at the wonders we can find, also because most teachers do not care about keeping students motivated.
Most resource are just the same as those we can find in a book but what would be more interesting than a fill in the blanks exercise that will interact with us? A book is just too simple for a student, specially if they’re young students.
I agree with Caroline Ho Mei Lin when she says that using the resources on the www can help to create independent learning, stimulate their thinking skills and most of all the stimulus that these type of activities can be for learning grammar. So I encourage everyone to begin searching to web and making use of this great tool that this century has given us before another wonder comes and leaves us behind!
See you in class,
Brenna M. Woods.

Dear Ms. Aleyda and classmates

I think the web as a resource for teaching grammar is important, because in our country we can not find so easily “places” where students can practice their grammar skills, on the other hand, online sites provide us this facility to interact with students, since they have the curiosity to be more globalized, the lake gives they really enjoy whilethey learn.
Enjoy your weekend

Dear miss. Aleyda and classmates

I think ,sometimes  we can feel a little confuse about how to teach grammar, when we know that the process of learning grammar some times can become really painful for some of us, for instance the communicative approach has advantage and disadvantage in the case that due to its lack in grammar can produce students who communicate well but lack in grammatical competency.Through the time there have been a lot of theories and many experts had been researched about tis process and  got conclusions and suggestions in how we can deal with different situations . for instance can explicit grammar knowledge become implicit knowledge? According to Krashen is impossible because the two types of knowledge are located in different parts of the brain, on the other hand, the interface position give the idea  that if learners pay attention to the form and meaning of a  language structure in input , they both can complement each other and facilitate  the process of learning   English as second language  being able  to avoid grammar mistake, and fossilization. The true is that teaching ESL students to notice grammar can be really hard ,tedious, and require a lot of effort, patient and time.

Well see you on class!!

Dear Ms. Aleyda and classmates:

Certanly, the Net has come as great forse to change our lives for better or for worse. In our case as English teachers and students, it has made it somewhat easier facilitating the access to a tone of information from a tone of diferent sourses around the globe.  For us teachers is not only an incredible resourse for planning our lessons and getting an extra hand on original ideas and activities to implement within the classroom, it also serves as a tool outside the classtime to get the students to practice language skills and testing their progress and level of knowledge in the confot of their own home without having to put on the spotlightin front of their classmates, which often results intimidating and very unconfortable for the student because of the common fear of failing.

The fact that the use of the Net keeps growing by the minute, goes to show the great influence that it has, on today´s busy world in constant need of practical solutions and responses to life´s everyday problems; and in our case, to class everyday situations.

Have a nice weekend.

Dear Miss Aleyda and Classmates.

Certainly the internet has brought a lot benefits to our world, if  you  use it for adequate purposes it can help you a lot! As teacher we have to be actives and investigate what is the best for our students.

Grammar exercises online are one of the best sources we can have because we can teach the students in  class   and then we can encourage them to keep in practice at home.                                                                                                                              Now a days many students have access to the internet and  if they not have it at home they pay for it.  As Caroline says in the article, when students work in grammar exercises online they become   independently working , they learn how to make choices, how to explore and even they can choose the one that they like the most or the one that they know have more difficulties.

Students need to stimulate their thinking skill and we as teacher have to encourage them to do it as well we as teacher have to use it.

Have a nice Day

Darling Moncada
